Purpose: To provide professional education
of deaf children, to teach
them sign language, how to read, do sculpture, carpentry and arts. The organization provides all
types of hearing devices and everything related
to the enhancement of their hearing defect.
The official registered name for our organization is Escuela para Sordos de Jocotepec, A.C. We are an all-volunteer, government-registered, not-for-profit charitable organization serving the Lake Chapala area in Mexico. We are audited annually by the state of Jalisco's directorate of charities (IJAS).
Organization News
The completely revised Beyond the Walls book by Alison Pickering is off the press--and features 240 pages of all new homes and photos. All profits from the sale of this book go toward supporting the children at the school.
Normal price is $500 pesos, but a discounted price will be available when purchased along with the current “Beyond the Walls” book.

"Casi Nuevo" (almost new) is located in Riberas del Pilar on the North side of the Carretera, across from the new Seven-Eleven. Why not stop by to peruse our updated shop, including a jewelry boutique by Hector Hernando... New expanded hours are 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday. (Donations of clothing and other items are always welcome.)
